Personal memory and nostalgia – An exploration of personal memory and nostalgia.
This project has been focused on memory and nostalgia in the context of place following on from the themes researched as part of my dissertation. I have drawn on personal memory and nostalgia from my hometown, creating observational drawings of found objects, landscapes and architecture, focusing on places of importance and places which I feel are representative of the character of my hometown. Furthering this by collecting found images of the town from the 1920s, a time of historical importance to the place and community. As memory is something that is so subjective and is sometimes just a feeling, the images that I have been producing are very abstract in order to reflect this.
